Mark recruits primarily in the PPE & Workplace Safety and Manufacturing & MRO division.

After leaving school, Mark entered the commercial world as a Management Trainee at the then largest timber importer in the UK, Meyer International plc; combining extended study for membership of the Institute of Wood Science with a new found commercial knowledge of the Timber industry.

Mark subsequently became one of Meyer’s youngest external sales representatives, enjoying great success before leaving to join Graham Builders Merchants as their youngest ever Timber Manager. After establishing a greenfield site in Hull, Mark swiftly moved through the ranks of Hunter Timber, ultimately becoming the Operations Manager.

Mark “fell” into recruitment in 1996 when he was approached by his former Director from Hunter Timber, Simon Newman. Since then, he has successfully carved a niche position as the leading executive recruiter within the PPE & Workplace Safety and Manufacturing & MRO sectors across the UK and internationally.

Mark is incredibly driven by strong values and is committed to delivering excellent service to his clients and candidates; always striving to find a solution that adds value to all parties.

When a busy family schedule allows, Mark works tirelessly as a Director of Hullensians RUFC to deliver a sustainable platform for children and adults to enjoy the experience of playing rugby. His charity work stems from his extended rugby family where he was the co-founder of the Simon Smith Charity Shield, which has raised over £35k for MNDA and the local hospice Dove House. Having (grudgingly) hung his boots up a long time ago he has developed another obsession – namely road cycling and enjoys dodging the traffic in the idyllic Yorkshire Wolds.
